Our Purpose

Mission & Vision

We are dedicated to ending child marriage and promoting the rights of adolescent girls in Malawi through community engagement and education.

Our Mission

Neno Shifters' mission is to end child marriage in Malawi by educating communities about the harmful effects of this practice and promoting the rights of adolescent girls. We work tirelessly to create awareness, change cultural norms, and provide support to vulnerable children.

Through collaborative partnerships with local leaders, schools, and government agencies, we strive to create a future where every child in Malawi can enjoy their childhood and receive an education without the threat of early marriage.

Our Vision

We envision a Malawi where no child is forced into marriage, where every girl has the opportunity to complete her education, and where communities value and protect the rights of all children.

Neno Shifters aspires to be a leading voice in the fight against child marriage in Malawi, inspiring communities to embrace change and creating a model that can be replicated in other regions facing similar challenges.

Our Journey

Our History

Neno Shifters was founded in 2020 by a group of passionate youth in Neno District who were concerned about the high rates of child marriage in their communities. What began as a small local initiative has grown into an influential organization with projects spanning across multiple villages in Neno District.

Over the years, we have expanded our reach and impact, adapting to local challenges while staying true to our core values of compassion, integrity, and community empowerment.

Stakeholder Meeting

Community Engagement

At Neno Shifters, we believe that ending child marriage requires the active involvement of the entire community. We regularly organize stakeholder meetings that bring together traditional leaders, parents, teachers, and young people to discuss the challenges and solutions related to child marriage.

These meetings provide a platform for open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving, allowing us to address cultural practices that contribute to child marriage while respecting local traditions and values.

Through these engagements, we have seen significant changes in community attitudes towards child marriage, with many traditional leaders becoming champions for girls' education and children's rights.
